Why Do I Need So Many Acid Relief Capsules?
The heartburn relief kit meets you where you’re at.
“If the Heartburn Relief Kit is working, why do I need so many Acid Relief daily?”. This is a question we get asked quite a lot, so it definitely seemed worth further explanation! So let’s break it down: what Acid Relief actually does, why the amount you take might vary from someone else, and what to expect as you move through the healing process.
What Does Acid Relief Do?
The Acid Relief works by increasing mucus production and coating the lining of your stomach and esophagus to protect it from further acid damage and allow it to heal. In addition, it has soothing ingredients such as aloe vera and slippery elm bark that help to reduce discomfort and inflammation. When taken with the Reflux Inhibitor, it forms the Heartburn Relief Kit which works to resolve acid reflux completely.
Acid Relief + Reflux Inhibitor: The Full Picture
When used together, these two supplements work as a team:
- The Reflux Inhibitor helps stop the acid reflux.
- Acid Relief helps soothe the burn and repair the damage.
But here’s the tricky part: everyone’s gut is different.
Your stomach acid levels, damage from past reflux, and overall digestive balance are completely unique. So the dosage that works for your friend might not work for you and vice versa. That’s why we recommend gradually adjusting your dose until you find the right balance.
In the early days, this can mean taking more Acid Relief than you expected. Especially if your body is still adjusting or if your acid damage is significant
When to Reassess
If you find yourself regularly taking the maximum (or close to it - around 10 capsules a day) of Acid Relief for more than a few weeks, it may mean that the Reflux Inhibitor isn’t doing enough for you yet. So rather than continuing to lean heavily on Acid Relief, the better move is to adjust your Reflux Inhibitor dose.
Here’s a simple guide:
- Start with 2 Reflux Inhibitor capsules per day.
- If there's no improvement after a week, increase to 3.
- Still not enough? Try 4, and observe.
- If you notice some improvement but then plateau, you can go up to 5 if needed.
- This is something you have to keep an eye on yourself and it’s all trial and error. You know your body best.
This time of trialing the right dose of the reflux inhibitor is when you’ll likely need extra acid relief. And that’s when you might hit the 7-10 capsule mark and start thinking “omg I cannot afford this”. But here’s the good news: it doesn’t last forever. Most people tend to find things improve steadily at around 3–4 daily in the initial stages and then slowly reduce the dose as symptoms improve and stabilize. As time goes on, many people take 2 acid relievers daily as maintenance, and towards the end of the 120 days, you may be down to 1 daily or 1-2 taken simply as needed.
